At the FIS, we believe in celebrating student perspectives and achievements. In this student voice feature, we are delighted to introduce two G11 Theory of Knowledge (ToK) students: Charmita Vinnakota and Kate Gopalakrishnan Banupriya. Our conversation with them delved into the fascinating world of critical thinking and its intersection with artificial intelligence (AI).

Nestled within this Franconian Switzerland region flows the charming Püttlach river, which recently became the focal point of an exciting geography trip for a group of FIS students. This expedition allowed them to delve into the realm of hydrology by collecting water and sediment samples, as well as conducting various measurements along the river’s course.

On Monday May 8, the G9 students visited the Deutsches Museum in Munich as part of their learning in science with an emphasis to the interdisciplinary unit of energy. Beside the opportunity to visit and explore various parts of this amazing museum, they attended a series of workshops on Electronics, Robotics and DNA extraction.

G11 Business Management and Economics students recently had the opportunity to visit the Audi production plant and museum in Ingolstadt, Germany. This excursion was not only an exciting adventure for the students but also a chance to gain real-world experience in the field of business and economics.

G11 students had the opportunity this week to travel to Madrid, Spain, one of the cultural centers of Europe for thousands of years with an extraordinary artistic heritage. Applying their skills learned in the classroom, this trip allowed them to discover the world beyond and learn from it in a meaningful way.

The FIS’s Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) students were ready to tackle their next challenge on April 21, as part of their adventurous journey training.

The FIS’s Model United Nations (MUN) group will be hosting an in-house conference for grades 7-11 to participate in!

Whilst many of us dream of sunny holiday destinations this time of the year, our Grade 9 Geography students had an opportunity to immerse themselves into the actual business side of the travel and holiday industry. As part of the FIS’s commitment to authentic learning, the students prepared and presented business proposals for tourism resorts.

The Grade 8 students visited the Industriemuseum in Lauf on Tuesday, April 25. Ranging from interactive learning opportunities such as the electromagnetic mini-motor building to a guided tour on the history of industrialisation, the students developed engineering skills and discovered the 1950s lifestyle. A wonderful event for Grade 8 students to remember and cherish!

The Grade 12 final assembly was an unforgettable experience, filled with a mix of emotions and memories as we looked back on our journey together. From the very first day of school to this very moment, we have shared countless moments that will stay with us forever.
