Final Assembly G12 and Spirit Week

The Grade 12 final assembly was an unforgettable experience, filled with a mix of emotions and memories as we looked back on our journey together. From the very first day of school to this very moment, we have shared countless moments that will stay with us forever.

The proceedings were kicked off with a beautiful guitar play by our talented Kate whilst Isobel and Nils expertly MC’d the event. During the assembly, we were taken on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, watching videos that were specially composed for this event by our talented students and teachers. As we celebrated the achievements of our Grade 12 students, we also shared our fondest memories of trips, events, and special moments that we’ve shared together over the years.

The FIS Choir delivered a stunning performance of “I See the Light” by Mandy Moore and Zacharia Levy. Then, the students were thrilled to announce the winners of the “Life Skills” competition. Congratulations to Caitlin, Anaïs, and Eve, and to all participants who took part in this fun and practical challenge. From ironing to cleaning toilets, doing dishes, and building a shelf, the tasks tested our everyday skills, all of this in preparation for a more independent life!

We would like to thank all the Grade 11 students who contributed to making this event special. Without their help, this day would not have been possible.

Not only did this week see the final assembly of Grade 12 – it is the final week that this year’s Grade 12 will spend in “regular school mode” before heading into exams. With this in mind, the students have been making the most of their remaining days by participating in fun-filled activities and dress-up days. On Monday, we saw them coming in in their Pajamas (well at least some of them!). Tuesday featured Ikea, Kim Kardashian, Freddy Mercury, Paris Hilton and many more as they dressed up as the first letter of their name. A movie character day brought in some special scenes on Wednesday, whilst on Thursday, we were taken back to how the students dressed on their first day of school. And of course, Friday, today, was prank day.

As the Grade 12 students head into their exams, we want to wish them all the best and the right amount of focus and perseverance. We believe in them, and we know that they will make us proud. The Class of 2023 has come so far, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for each and every one of them. Let’s continue to create unforgettable moments and cherish the memories we’ve shared. Go, Class of 2023!
