Unity Through Multilingualism

On Monday, July 1, all the Grade 1 to 5 students took part in Unity Through Multilingualism (name inspired by the recent ECIS MLIE Conference), a conference-style afternoon event where students attended a variety of sessions exposing them to different languages. The purpose of the event was to highlight and explore the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Elementary School community.

Sessions included Origami in Korean, Yoga in German, Calligraphy in Japanese, Skipping in Portuguese and Storytelling in Filipino. Students enjoyed engaging with a range of languages and were able to reflect on what it means to be a language learner and part of the multilingual FIS community.

Overall, the event was a big success and we look forward to seeing how we can expand on the concept in the future!
