Periodic Table School Competition

Secondary

2019 is the International Year of the Periodic Table (www.iypt2019.org) and the Chemistry Department organized a school competition around this amazing theme.

The competition ran for 10 weeks where the participants had to answer quite challenging, but also very interesting, questions about the Periodic Table. There was everything from historical mistakes, Norse Gods and chemical warfare to sexually transmitted diseases and tricking the Nazis by dissolving gold Nobel medals.

Out of the 35 participants, only 3 students answered every question correctly, thus winning the competition. They received certificates, Periodic Table themed prizes and cinema vouchers (courtesy of the PTO). It was a fun competition enjoyed by many and a great enhancement to the curriculum!

Congratulations to the winners!
