Long Night of Science at the FIS

In-House

As a part of the Long Night of Science, our students will perform a series of practical investigations at the children’s afternoon program on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 14:00 to 17:00 at the FIS. The theme will be “Famous Scientists”. These activities are organized and led by our Science Department, and we extend a big thanks to them for the great work!

On the same day, from 18:00 to 01:00, die Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften (Long Night of Science) opens its doors for all visitors to marvel and discover. Universities, research institutes, companies, laboratories, studios and factories in the Nürnberg, Fürth and Erlangen area will be there. Experiments, guided tours, talks, discussions, exhibitions and much more will be on offer. More information is available on the event’s official website.

The target audience is children aged between 6 to 14 years. For students interested in science, the afternoon will provide the opportunity to experiment and analyze. They will get to participate in hands-on activities in chemistry, biology and physics, including the famous Erlangen scientist Georg Ohm’s electricity law experiment.

There will be scientific displays, interactive activities and demonstrations. We hope that yet again many local families will be impressed with the presentations and interactions.
