Cross Country Success in Berlin

Last week, the FIS Cross Country team (of 12 Elementary School, 8 Middle School and 5 High School students) traveled to Berlin British School (BBS) to compete at the GISST and Interschool competition. Although the training season was very short this year, our runners performed really well, bringing two team trophies and some individual medals home.

Oga Fukumizu won the Boys Grade 3 race and the gold medal, while Emilio Perez finished 3rd in the same category, winning the bronze.
Nele Zeitler and Elissa Rodammer both finished second in their races, Girls Grade 4 and Girls Grade 5 respectively, bringing home silver medals.
Our youngest runner, Pearl Berghorn from Grade 2, had a fantastic race too, finishing second in her first ever Interschool competition.
U14 Girls and Varsity Girls performance in Berlin was simply amazing and both teams proudly came back home with the 2nd place trophy.
New to the Varsity age group and as the only FIS representative in this category, Olivier van der Wart, delivered an excellent race finishing 4th overall.

Way to go FIS Dragons! A big thank you to the coaches Mrs. Christina Lohwasser, Mr. Thomas Phillipson, Ms. Liv Stöth and Mrs. Carole Williamson.

Friendly Fixtures, October 12, 2019

Next Saturday, four FIS teams will be participating in Friendly fixtures. The U14 and Varsity Badminton, as well as Varsity Boys and Girls Football teams, are traveling to BIS (Bavarian International School near Munich) to compete. They will leave FIS at 7:00 and should be back by 17:00. All coaches and additional two FIS chaperones will accompany the teams.

Good luck everyone!
