Christmas in a Shoebox, 2019

In-House

Nine years going strong, the FIS is excited about yet another season of Geschenk mit Herz or “Christmas in a Shoebox”!

This is a project sponsored by the non-profit organization Humedica, which collects gift-filled shoeboxes and distributes them at Christmas to children who are less fortunate. This year, the shoeboxes will be distributed to children in Kosovo, the Ukraine, Romania, Moldova and parts of Bavaria.

Once again, we are reaching out to all FIS families to support this year’s collection. For the 2019 edition, we have split up collections by grade. Please refer to the list below to see what you and your child can bring in:

Grade 1Toys (stuffed animals, jump ropes, toy cars, puzzles, etc.)
Grade 2Hair brushes, gummy bears, pencil sharpeners, erasers
Grade 3Notebooks, pencils, coloring pencils, markers
Grade 4Hats, scarves, gloves
Grade 5Toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap

Collection boxes can be found in your child’s homeroom and in the foyer of the main building. The collection ends on October 25, 2019!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email at or .

Thank you for your support!
