Art Forever

Primary

What can last forever? Grade 2 students agreed that art can! Together they voted on a theme for a mural in their Art room.

The students collaborated to create the “Art Forever” mural inspired by the beloved artist Keith Haring. They developed a good understanding of how Haring expressed himself with shapes and colors to make meaning. This will help to guide their understanding for their IPC assessment for learning, the goal for which is: To be able to use art as a means of self-expression.

They constructed the mural using brightly colored paper with black bold contour lines. Haring said, “Art is for everyone.” The Grade 2 students are echoing his mantra by displaying this vibrantly colored mural in the Elementary School Art room (room 2.070) for all students and visitors to enjoy.
