We are 100 Days Wiser!

Primary

Did you know that Tuesday, February 4, 2020, was the 100th day of this school year? We did because we have been counting.

In Grade 1 we inquire into 100 in many different ways; we see it, we count up to it and down from it by 1’s and by skip counting by 2’s and 5’s, we make it in different ways, and we look for patterns in the place values from 0 to 100. 100 is a big deal for us!

So we celebrated the 100 days that we have been learning in Grade 1. Many of us came dressed in shirts decorated with 100 things; like popcorn, stickers, and beads. Others of us came dressed as 100-year-olds. We had the opportunity to make necklaces with 100 Fruit Loops in 10 groups of 10, build towers with 100 blocks, write 100 words, dress up like 100-year-olds, decorate frames with 100 objects, sing songs about and numbers up to 100… the day was full of 100, to say the least!

We thought that the 100th day of school is something to celebrate, and we did!
