Reflecting on an Extraordinary School Year at the FIS

As we approach the end of this extraordinary school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate the remarkable achievements and progress we have made together at the FIS. We are incredibly proud and grateful for the success and growth we have experienced.

One of our proudest accomplishments this year was the re-accreditation of FIS by both CIS/NEASC and the International Baccalaureate (IB) organization. These prestigious accreditations affirm the outstanding quality of education we offer to our students and recognize the dedication of our exceptional faculty and staff.

We have embraced positive changes throughout the year, with transformations in our curriculum, including progressive approaches such as the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and advancements in phonetics and literacy. We have also made significant progress in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in the secondary division. Additionally, we have implemented appraisal systems, introduced new positions, and further developed our leadership team to enhance our educational offerings even more.

The past few weeks have been filled with engaging activities, assessments, and opportunities for experiential and service learning. From MYP assessments and IB exams to field trips, music recitals, and assemblies, our students have demonstrated exceptional engagement and perseverance. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated PTO and volunteers for organizing community events that have brought us together and enriched our school experience.

While we bid farewell to some exceptional teachers, learning assistants and support staff members who have made a lasting impact on our student’s lives, we are grateful for their unwavering dedication and expertise. To Frau Steinberg, Mr. Greener, Mrs. Greener, Mrs. Sharpe, Mrs. Susanne Kaiser, Mrs. Gezelbash, Ms. Glancy, Mrs. Potgieter, Frau Shechtman, Ms. Spadoni and Kiki Piruri we thank you for your outstanding contributions and wish you the best in your future endeavors. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

As we prepare for the next school year, we are excited to welcome 14 new educators who will contribute to our optimal learning environment. We are also introducing new leadership roles to strengthen our commitment to excellence in education and ensure a supportive and inclusive school community.

To the students and parents leaving the FIS, we extend our gratitude for your contributions and wish you success in your future endeavors. Remember, once a FIS family member, always a FIS family member!

As we conclude the 2022/2023 school year, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to our students, faculty, parents, and support staff for their invaluable contributions to our success. We are thrilled to announce that the upcoming school year marks FIS’s 25th anniversary, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with our entire FIS family.

While the school will be partially open during the summer, we will also be undertaking building and refurbishment work to prepare for the new academic year. We extend our thanks to all our FIS families for their ongoing support and trust in us. We wish everyone a relaxing and enjoyable holiday, and we eagerly await the return of those coming back in August.

Thank you for your unwavering support throughout this year.
