Message from the Early Years/Elementary School Principal

Primary

Welcome back to all our returning families and a special welcome to our new families. I look forward to a wonderful year together as we support your children on their learning journey. We have had a very settled start to the year.  All the teachers and students have found their classrooms, new friendships are being forged and new routines and systems are being embedded. The whole school, as is tradition, have launched into a two week ‘Brainwave’ unit where all the students are learning about how the brain works and what they can do to make it work even better, and this in turn will help improve learning. Hopefully your child has shared with you some of the exciting and engaging learning experiences they have taken part in already.

Our first Parent Info Night for the year takes place on Wednesday, 6 September at 19:00. The evening is designed to give parents of students in Early Years and Elementary School the opportunity of meeting their child’s teachers as well as giving all of the teachers the opportunity of presenting their programs and expectations for the school year. Our format for the evening is similar to last year. We will have an optional session from 18:00 – 19:00 which is mainly designed for new parents to the school. During this time we will have information tables for the specialist subjects of German, Music, Sports, Art, Student Support, Counseling, and ESL set up. Parents are free to visit the tables and obtain information sheets about the subject and speak with representatives from each department during this time.

Also from 18:00, the library will be open and parents will have the chance to speak with the librarians about the library program and upcoming events. The main part of the Parent Information Evening then begins at 19:00 in the Aula.
