DP Prep Weeks

Over the last two weeks, our G10 students participated in the DP Prep Weeks. This is a crucial period for students entering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. It provides them with the tools and experiences necessary to succeed in the challenging academic journey ahead.

During the first week, students focused on skill-building and exploration. They participated in a first aid course, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge for emergencies. A CAS workshop introduced the importance of engaging in creative, active, and service-oriented activities. Students also attend a presentation on study skills, motivation, and revision, providing them with effective strategies for academic success. A breakfast with current G11 students gave the opportunity to get real-life feedback and advice on topics that interested each student most.

During the second week, students experienced the actual subjects as they are taught in G11. They attended subject-specific classes led by experienced DP teachers, gaining an understanding of the syllabus, learning objectives, and teaching methodologies. Discussions, group work, and hands-on activities deepened their knowledge and critical thinking skills.

Several team building activities rounded off the two weeks, fostering camaraderie and collaboration amongst peers.

Before going into summer break, the DP Prep Weeks set a solid foundation for students entering the DP. Through a comprehensive focus on skill development, exploration, team-building, and immersion in subject matter, our students are well-equipped to confidently navigate the demanding IB Diploma Program.
