Please note that the original schedule for the GISST Varsity Girls basketball, to be hosted here at the FIS, has been changed by one day. Therefore, the official new dates for Varsity Girls basketball are from Friday, March 20, 2020, to Sunday, March 22, 2020.
After hosting a great football tournament last fall, we are looking forward to welcoming teams from nine other international schools, with about 90 guest players participating in the two-day basketball tournament, on our very own FIS turf.
The FIS community has always been very supportive and helpful. By now, we are known and respected among GISST schools as an excellent host. It is YOU, the FIS families, who make it happen, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all time spent and effort made in supporting the sports program at the FIS.
Let´s all get together one more time and make the upcoming Varsity Girls basketball tournament a seamless, successful and memorable one.

“Jugend trainiert für Olympia” – Update
This week we can proudly present the new Middle Franconian Junior Varsity badminton champions – Sanjana, Elisabeth, Emily, Doris, Sanat, Sean, Jaskirat and Ben. They demonstrated superior skills and won all their matches to qualify for the Nord-Bavarian final tournament in February. Congratulations, also, to our younger Under 14 mixed team for finishing 2nd overall in the region.
On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, the JV Girls basketball will participate in the regional finals to be held in the Heinrich-Sponsel-Halle here in Erlangen. Parents, players and event team members have already been informed.
