Last weekend, three teams set out on their DofE Bronze Practice Expedition, taking on the route from Obertrubach to the Moritz campsite. Over the course of two days, students navigated the landscape, worked together as teams, and experienced life outdoors without their phones.
The evening was spent around the bonfire, with plenty of time to connect, reflect, and recharge after a full day of hiking. On Saturday, all groups successfully completed the journey, arriving in Ebermannstadt with a strong sense of accomplishment.
While their teamwork and resilience stood out, map reading is one skill that will benefit from a bit more practice ahead of the next challenge. With the experience gained, the teams are now looking ahead to their Bronze Qualification Expedition in May.
