Three MUNFIS delegates represented FIS with distinction at this year’s Zurich Model UN conference hosted at the iconic ETH University campus this April. Tackling real-world issues, from the socio-economic impact of tourism to the future governance of outer space, our delegates were at the heart of every resolution drafted and adopted in their respective committees.
Our learners said the experience strengthened their public speaking skill including both for prepared and impromptu speeches. The conference helped them develop their ability to adapt, collaborate, and find common ground even when holding opposing viewpoints. Set in one of Europe’s most visually striking cities, learners engaged with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds – each taking on the role of delegate and bringing a unique national perspective to the debate. With representation spanning lesser-known and underrepresented nations, the debate was enriched by voices and viewpoints seldom heard on the global stage.
The MUNFIS facilitators and Executive team would like to congratulate MUNFIS Secretary, Diti, who was awarded Outstanding Delegate; Zoe for being awarded the Honourable Mention; and Shireen for receiving a verbal commendation.
