The Long Night of Science on October 21

In-House

The FIS will participate during the Children’s Program in the afternoon

On Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 18:00 to 01:00 The Long Night of Science invites all visitors to marvel and discover. Universities, research institutes, companies, laboratories, studios and factories in the Nürnberg, Fürth and Erlangen area are looking forward to a large attendance of visitors. Experiments, guided tours, talks, discussions, exhibitions and many more will be on offer. More information available under www.nacht-der-wissenschaften.de.

During the children’s program in the afternoon from 14:00 to 17:00, the stage will be free for all young scientists. Four years ago, the FIS science students participated for the first time where the four school science laboratories were opened to the public. The target audience was children aged 8 to 14 and the theme was “Energy”. In 2015, the theme was “The Environment”. This year, with a new laboratory available, our Middle School students will present a range of experiments which will include “hands on” activities for youngsters and their parents to try out with a focus on how science, food and cooking are closely interrelated. We hope that yet again many local families will be impressed with the presentations and interactions. For all students of all ages interested in science, the afternoon will provide the opportunity to experiment and analyze. We look forward to a full house.

Pre-ticket sales available at the Reception desk. There will also be ticket sales at the entrance door on Saturday, 21 October: 12 Euros per adult plus two children aged 12 years and below. It costs 8 Euros for students above the age of 12. The ticket is valid for entrance to all participating venues throughout Erlangen, Nürnberg and Fürth for the afternoon and evening program, including public transport.
