Last Call for Summer Sports Camp 2019!

Back by popular demand, this year’s Summer Sports Camp will take place from July 8 to 12, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00.

Students who are currently in Early Years 4 to Grade 7 may attend. Students will do 3 different sporting activities each day and the purpose is to have fun and be active. Registration for the summer camp is on Schoolbase. There are still some places available so please don´t miss the opportunity and register soon to avoid any disappointment. The cost is EUR 80 per student/week.

New GISST Track and Field Record!

It was his first ever participation in GISST Track and Field and he came back home with 4 medals and one new GISST record in 800m for the U14 Boys! Congratulation Olivier, we are so proud of you.

Congratulations to all other FIS athletes who performed very well in Berlin, winning two team trophies and lots of individual medals:

  • U14 Boys 1st overall
  • U14 Girls 3rd overall
  • Varsity Boys 5th overall
  • Varsity Girls 7th overall
  • Miranda Rogers: Silver in U14 Girls Shot Put
  • Sophie Beste: Gold in U14 Girls Discus
  • Scott Simons: Gold in U14 Boys 400m
  • Southik Banerjee: Gold in U14 Boys 100m and Silver in U14 Boys High Jump
  • Tobi Oyinlola: Silver in U14 Boys 100m, Bronze in U14 Boys Shot Put and Bronze in U14 Boys 200m
  • Ashton Bagwell: Silver in U14 Boys 200m
  • Olivier van der Wart: Gold in U14 Boys 1500m and U14 Boys 800m (with a new GISST record)
  • Owen Semp: Gold in Varsity Boys High Jump
  • U14 Boys: Gold in 4x100m
  • U14 Boys: Gold in 4x400m

All previous GISSTS records held by FIS are still intact, and we´ve added a new one!

End of the GISST Season 2018-19

With 260 student participants, 25 coaches and 6 assistant coaches involved in the GISST sports program, countless training hours, thousands of kilometers traveled by bus and train across Germany, many medals and trophies, new records and some tears, 162 overall points and one sportsmanship award for the FIS, we proudly conclude this school year in 5th place overall in the GISST competition. Way to go FIS Dragons!
