As announced in the FIS Newsletter in June 2016, the FIS will be implementing the International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) in August 2018 for Grades 6 to 8. The implementation will continue in the following years, as stated in the graphic on the Middle School page to encompass Grades 6 to 10. Independent research has shown that the IB’s MYP is the most effective preparatory program for the IB Diploma Program (IB DP) in Grades 11 and 12 and in its own right best supports the growth of young adolescents academically and socially as they transition from children to young adults.
In order to best support students and families as the FIS implements the IB MYP from August 2018, we would like to invite all current Grade 5 to 7 students and parents to an information evening on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 18:30 in the FIS Aula. If you are an interested parent/student from another grade level, of course you are also very welcome to attend! At this event we will explain key aspects of the curriculum framework and what this will look like in your son or daughter’s IB MYP classes from August 2018.
