In the Grade 10 Global Perspectives class this year we have been building the curriculum to reach a crescendo, which was to have been a trip to visit Dar Si Hmad, a non-profit organization operating in the Southwestern part of Morocco. Dar Si Hmad’s vision is to enable sustainable livelihoods through education and the integration and use of scientific ingenuity. One of Dar Si Hmad’s high-profile projects is an apparatus to collect fog for drinking water atop the pre-Saharan Mount Boutmezguida.
Over the course of the year and in the lead up to the planned trip we have looked into systems of belief, ethical reasoning, citizenship, human rights, corporate responsibility, and most recently, the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Students were asked to write an informational blog that describes work being done on one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the context of Morocco.
Submissions from all three classes were compared and we would like to present, in our opinion, the best blog entry – a piece by Julia, Jaehyung (Chris) and Owen from 10A. You can read it in the link below.
