Genius Hour: Pursuing Passion and Interests

Primary, Library

Once a month our Grade 5 classes participate in a Genius Hour. They use this time to explore and pursue interests that they might not have time for otherwise.

We have students learning how to play chess, building with Legos, creating commercials for the library, knitting, sewing, etc. – the list goes on.

Their activities are connected to the IB curriculum’s Approaches to Learning (ATLs), encompassing areas like creativity, research, thinking skills, communication, self-management, and social skills. These activities help set the pace for when the students move on to MYP in the following school year.
