Reit im Winkl once again provided the backdrop for a Grade 8 adventure that took learning well beyond the classroom – and, for at least one night, beyond four walls altogether.
Sleeping under the stars was part of an experience that encouraged students to embrace challenge, adapt to unfamiliar situations and take greater responsibility for themselves and each other. Away from everyday routines, there were opportunities to push personal boundaries, keep going when things became difficult and enjoy the rewards that come with doing something outside the ordinary.
Experiences like these ask students to think ahead, make decisions, support one another and reflect on how they respond when things do not go quite as expected. They build resilience and independence while creating space for students to discover what they – and those around them – are capable of.
Add fresh mountain air, plenty of outdoor adventure and a night beneath the stars, and Grade 8 had all the ingredients for a camp experience to remember.
