Recently, we welcomed 25 trainee primary teachers in the second phase of their training (following their First State Examination) for a dedicated Learning Day at the FIS.
As part of their teacher preparatory service (Vorbereitungsdienst), the visit focused on connecting their formal training with real classroom practice. Through guided tours, classroom visits, discussions with our teachers, and curriculum sessions, participants experienced our Primary Years Programme (PYP) in action and engaged in meaningful professional dialogue.
The morning concluded with a curriculum presentation led by members of our team, offering further insight into inquiry-based learning, student agency, and how these approaches are implemented across the Primary School.
It is always a pleasure to engage with the next generation of educators – sharing our approach, exchanging ideas, and contributing to their professional journey. We hope to welcome some of them back at the FIS in the future as colleagues at the end of their studies.
