Exploring the Role of Propaganda at the Documentation Center

Secondary

On Friday, March 22, Grade 8 students traveled to the Documentation Center in Nürnberg to learn more about the role that propaganda plays in society.

We started the visit with a tour around the museum. The tour guide stopped occasionally to discuss the important points in history which utilized propaganda to influence a group of people.

After the tour, we participated in an interactive workshop, where we explained what we thought different pieces of propaganda represented. This was really thought-provoking and helped us draw similarities between advertising and propaganda.

Overall, this excursion really helped us to see a practical example of what we have been learning in our Individuals and Societies class.
