Enameling Workshops

PTO

Dagmar invites you to step into practice to a technique, that has been practiced for nearly 3500 years now, and in many cultures of our planet.

Aim of the Workshop

Presentation and practice of the millennial art of enameling, that is melting glass on metal. You will see how glass is melted to metal at high temperatures (like glace is melted on pottery), producing objects with glowing, everlasting, brilliant colors. Some look like gems!

What You Do during the Workshop

You get familiar with the materials, enamels and metal, then you figure out and design your special enameled decoration for the metal piece that you will enamel. After that, the piece is prepared for firing and fired in the kiln. After firing, the piece must be cleaned, sanded, and then mounted. Thus, you make your own unique piece of enameled jewelry: a pendant, or a pair of earrings.

Duration and Dates

Five hours on Monday morning, from 9:00 to 14:00, with a 30-minute break and a final evaluation (30 minutes), on one of these Mondays to choose:

  • January 14, 2019

  • January 28, 2019
