For our “Let’s Pretend” IPC unit, we pretended to be “builders” in Outdoor Learning.
We wanted to create a construction site with rocks, stones and sticks. We had the materials and the tools; we just needed help from the Hausmeisters.
We talked about cutting the log in half to make two pieces. We made one long rectangle and then three smaller squares. We solved problems when we tried to move heavy logs and worked together as a team. Our biggest problem was how we could connect all the logs together. We had several ideas including tape, glue, screw and string. Which did we use? We opted for big screws.
We created a construction site successfully in our Outdoor Learning area!
