“Culture in the 21st Century” Conference

In-House

Last school year, our Middle School and High School Community here at the FIS held its first ever “Gender in the 21st Century” conference event. Almost half of the sessions were led by students in Grades 7 through 12, and everyone had the chance to select and join sessions that were of particular interest to them. This year, we have decided that we would aim to affirm the cultural diversity of our community and to bring awareness of our unique cultural self-identities. This conference event will focus on how cultural values and beliefs impact personal identity development, wellbeing and access to equal opportunities. It will be held on March 20, 2019, during the International Week Against Racism and intends to address United Nations Global Goals 3 and 10, good health and wellbeing and reduced inequalities. Please encourage your child to lead a session! They can address as few or as many students as they like! If you are a parent and would like to lead a session of your own, you are also more than welcome! Submit your ideas here before February 1.

Should you have any questions, please contact Ms. Ang Ms. Min, Mr. Simpson or myself.
