We are happy to announce that after the Winter Break the FIS has taken the next steps towards becoming an Eco-School.
Before the break the new waste separation stations were installed throughout the main building. As a consequence, the majority of the old plastic trash bins were then removed over the break. We use the same color code for the new bins that students are familiar with from having used them at home:
- yellow => yellow-bag waste
- green => biowaste
- black => non-recyclable waste
Groups of students from different grade levels are in charge of emptying the yellow and green bins. This is a very good example of how students of all age groups are interested in taking responsibility for our environment.
