The Siemens School Partnership would like to invite our students to three different events, coming up in February and March: Realize your visions, the 22nd Erlanger Technikgespräch and the 27th Tag der Mathematik.

1. Realize your visions! – Ingenieure gestalten Zukunft

The Förderkreis Ingenieurstudium e.V. would like to invite interested parents and students to the Realize your visions job information fair on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 11:30 to 14:30 at VIP Forum Max-Morlock-Stadium Nürnberg.

Engineers will talk about areas such as research and development, products, sales, project planning and service. In addition, multiple companies and universities will present their portfolio.

2. The 22nd Erlanger Technikgespräch

Interested students are invited to attend this informative talk on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 19:00 (doors open at 18:30) at Siemens “medicare” (Allee am Röthelheimpark 1).

Prof. Dr. Martin Stratmann, President of the Max-Planck-Institute will talk on “How important is foundational research today?” . Germany is one of the most research-intensive countries on earth. A big part of this research is done by companies, but foundational research by independent, non-directional and publically sponsored organizations is and has to be strong as well. They come up with groundbreaking findings, on which foundations innovations can thrive. Free foundational research is also a magnate for international talents, who build and strengthen their ability to find unconventional answers to unconventional questions in science – and who at a later step can be highly qualified mavericks in both science and business.

In his presentation “How important is foundational research today?”, Prof. Dr. Martin Stratmann will talk about the manifold potentials of free foundational research in the 21st century and investigate on the question whether these potentials have been exploited completely today. Following will be a discussion with Dr Frank Anton, Executive Vice President eAircraft of Siemens AG and Prof Dr Gerd Leuchs, director of the Max-Planck-Institute for the Science of Light in Erlangen.

The Erlanger Technikgespräch is organized in cooperation between Siemens AG and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Please sign up at by Friday, February 23,  at the latest, if you want to attend.

3. The 27th Tag der Mathematik 2018

Der Tag der Mathematik is organized by the Math Department of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in cooperation with the Zentrum für Mathematik and Siemens AG. It will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018. 

Interested students from Grade 11 are welcome to join. The assignments are high school level. Every school can send teams of up to five participants. These teams will have to be accompanied by a math teacher, who also takes care of signing the students up. The registration deadline is Saturday, February 10, 2018. Interested teachers and students are also welcome to visit all presentations that accompany the competition.
