You are cordially invited to attend curriculum workshops related to the learning in Early Years and Elementary School. I will be leading three different sessions for you to learn more about the different practices and learning engagements that your children participate in during the school day. There will also be opportunities to partake in hands on learning experiences as well as ask questions.

These sessions will be taking place on Thursday, March 28, in the Conference Room.

SessionTime Content
Authentic Learning 12:40 – 13:30This session will focus on how we are linking our learning to real life scenarios, developing interdisciplinary links and the importance of this to support your child’s learning.
Assessment for Learning 13:40 – 14:30This session will focus on Assessment for Learning Programme, which is an integral part of the IPC curriculum. In this session, we will be focusing on the importance of Assessment for Learning in relation to Assessment of Learning. We will also focus on the IPC assessment language of: beginning, developing and mastering, the use of rubrics and learning advice, which are used to support your child’s learning.
Mathematics and Numicon14:40 – 15:30Developing strategies from concrete, pictorial and abstract in connection to the subject of mathematics. The use of Numicon, to develop how an understanding of how numerals and numbers are connected and to develop a concrete understanding of numbers and strategies we can use to solve calculations.
