Middle School Parent Information Night (PIN)

Secondary

The Middle School PIN will be held on Thursday, August 30 at 19:00 to 20:30. At the PIN, parents will be introduced to the new learning platform ManageBac where parents and students are able to view the Middle School curriculum, a calendar of all summative assessments and homework, as well as all grades and feedback given by teachers. As usual, parents will have the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers during the evening to talk with them about the curriculum that their child will be learning.

The format of the evening is:

  • 19:00 – 19:20 Welcome presentation in the FIS Theatre
  • 19:25 – 20:30 Parents meet the teachers in the Aula and Cafeteria
  • 19:30 – 20:00 1st Optional ‘ManageBac for Parents’ training session in the Theater
  • 19:30 – 20:00 2nd Optional ‘ManageBac for Parents’ training session in the Theater

If you would like to join the ManageBac training sessions in the Theater, please bring an internet enabled device with you. Wifi codes will be available for parents to use the FIS Wifi on the evening. On Thursday, August 30, invitations to parents to login-in to ManageBac accounts created for you by the FIS, will be sent to the parent email addresses that are registered with the FIS. As the curriculum information will all be provided electronically via ManageBac there will not be any paper handouts on the evening.

I look forward to seeing as many Middle School parents and students as possible at the PIN on Thursday evening. If you are unable to join the PIN and you would like to make an appointment to see a specific teacher, please do contact them by email. If you are unable to attend and would like to discuss the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum or use of ManageBac please contact the PA to the Principals, Yvonne Krauss, to make an appointment with the me at
