G9 Winter Sports Week

Secondary

Our G9 students enjoyed an amazing Winter Sports Week filled with skiing and snowboarding. Students hit the slopes with professional instructors, combining fitness and outdoor fun in the perfect winter getaway!

Here are some student voices:

Bobi: “The trip was incredible and very fun. It was nice to get to know the people in our Grade. I also had fun skiing and snowboarding, and improving, the coaches were incredible. The hotel and the food were just perfect.”

Leo: “The trip was very fun, I was getting steezy with Bobby on the slopes, but I ended up falling and breaking my arm. That wasn’t so good, but the trip was still pretty nice. The community was very good.”

Nele: “The instructions were really helpful. The ski trip was amazing. And it was nice to spend time with the people in the grade, and a nice opportunity for everybody to learn and immerse themselves into skiing.”

Bianca: “This trip was really fun. The food, the hotel, and everything was great. Obviously, I loved skiing the most, because of the experiences and spending so much time with my classmates.”

And Mr. Morris, chaperone and PE teacher said: “The ski trip was a fantastic opportunity for all students, not only those who could improve their skiing/snowboarding skills but an introduction to a whole new world for those who have never been to the snow or ever seen snow before.
Students were exploring their boundaries and testing their skill levels daily with their amazing instructors. Dinner time was a constant discussion about the new things they’d done during the day and goals for tomorrow.
The whole trip was extremely well organized by Ms. Fischer with activities and team building exercises throughout the entire week.
For myself personally, I was so glad to see students enjoying their winter sports experience and I hope that they have been inspired to go and try again with their friends and families.
The highlight for me was watching the beginners go from learning to put skis properly to being able to independently make their way down a slope with a newfound confidence.”
