This week, Grade 5 welcomed the Mayor of Neunkirchen am Brand, Herr Martin Walz, to launch their new Unit of Inquiry, “How We Organize Ourselves – Government Systems”. He shared clear, practical insights into local government, touching on democracy, budgets, voting systems, and the reality that leadership often involves difficult decisions. His reflection that “good politics should be quiet” sparked thoughtful discussion and set a strong foundation for the unit ahead, as students explore how governments and citizens influence one another.
