Six G4 students recently represented the school at the FIRST LEGO League Explore competition, hosted by Frankfurt International School on February 28. Competing as Team “Fossil Finders,” the students took part in the event for the first time, presenting their coding work and sharing their learning with other teams.
This year’s “Unearthed” theme invited students to explore ancient civilizations and investigate how modern technology can help us preserve and better understand the past. For the Grade 4 team, the challenge connected directly to their current Ancient Civilizations Unit of Inquiry, creating a meaningful link between classroom learning and hands-on exploration.
During the event, the team showcased their LEGO model, coding work, and research, explaining how their project connected the past with modern innovation. Their efforts were recognized with the “Bridge from Past to Future” Award, highlighting the team’s thoughtful approach to the theme. Congratulations to all the students!
The team was also supported by members of the G5 Challenge Team “Team Voltage,” who attended the event to cheer them on and celebrate their first competition experience.
