G3 Exploring Fast Fashion and Fair Choices

Primary

As part of their current Unit of Inquiry, Sustainable economic choices can benefit humans and the environment, our Grade 3 students recently welcomed a Florence Bacin to explore the impact of the fashion industry—specifically fast fashion—on people and the planet.

During the session, students learned about where and how clothing is made, with a focus on the importance of fair wages and safe working conditions for garment workers around the world. They were encouraged to think beyond the price tag and consider the human and environmental cost behind everyday items.

The presentation helped deepen their understanding of how sustainable economic decisions can positively impact both people and the environment, making their learning feel real and closely connected to their everyday lives.
