FIS’ Model United Nations (MUN) Club in Hamburg

Secondary

The FIS’ Model United Nations (MUN) club, containing students from Grades 9 to 11, had the opportunity to travel to Hamburg from October 4 to 9, 2017 to attend the Model United Nations Conference-Hamburg (MUNoH).

The FIS brought eight delegates representing the nations of the United Kingdom and Tuvalu. As the UK is a P5 nation, we also had a seat in this year’s Security Council where they tackled issues such as territorial disputes in the South China Sea and escalating tensions between North Korea and the United States.

It was a long week of lobbying and debating, but students walked away with not only improved research and public speaking skills, but also with a lot of new friends.
