The FIS is looking for a

Learning Support Teacher (Primary Focus)

Starting: December 16, 2024
Employment Type: Full-time
Contract Type: 1 year as replacement for parental leave

Responsibilities:

  • Teach the educational program relevant to subject and grade level(s) based on the FIS curriculum
  • Provide individualized and small group support to 1st and 2nd Grade students
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop tailored learning plans
  • Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support
  • Communicate regularly with parents to update them on their child’s progress and needs
  • Meet with staff, parents, and specialists to review student progress and adjust strategies
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure growth
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant University degree and/or relevant additional qualifications for supporting students with identified exceptionalities/special educational needs
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong focus on student-centered learning
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • IB PYP, MYP or DP experience preferred
  • Experience in an international school an advantage
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience in Learning Support preferred
