Transitioning between Cultures: How does your Child Perceive their World?

In-House

As part of the “Culture in the 21st Century” Conference Series, we are really pleased to announce a Parent Workshop on in the Conference Room on March 21, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:00.

Please sign up under the following link before March 18, 2019 in order to help us cater accordingly: https://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/pvopn

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Heather Meyer, will host a session aimed at parents of students in international schools. The workshop will explore the ways in which children perceive themselves (and others) in the world and how they are influenced by a variety of spheres – the most important ones being their families and their educational institutions. This workshop aims to bring to discussion the role of culture for children attending international schools, with a focus on the way in which it impacts social imagination and the effects it can have on mobility. Together, we will explore international mobility, identity and belonging, and the role of the family throughout.

By the end of the session, the hope is that you will have a pocketful of ideas for supporting your family as you navigate together through both the opportunities and challenges that arise with international mobility.

We really look forward to seeing many parents there to have an open discussion and share ideas with Dr. Heather Meyer.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Ang (), Ms. Kellum () or Mr. Simpson ().
