As the term of the current members of the PTO Executive Board comes to a close, we would like to extend our gratitude for their exceptional service and amazing contribution over the past years. You have helped to nurture community spirit and to create lasting memories for us all. Thank you.
Elections for the PTO board positions will take place in May, and the entire FIS community is invited to participate. Further details, including the election process, will be shared following Spring Break, thank you to all who applied.
As a volunteer-led organization comprising parents, teachers, and staff, the PTO plays a crucial role in fostering our growing FIS community. From welcoming new families and staff to organizing events and activities, the PTO serves as the driving force behind community-building and cultivating a strong sense of belonging. In its efforts, the PTO complements the work of the parent representatives on the FIS Board of Directors, whose primary focus is on establishing the operational guidelines for the school.
Today, we are pleased to introduce the candidates running for election to the PTO Executive Board in May. Following the election, we will host an event where the FIS community can meet the new board members, learn more about the PTO’s activities, and discover how to get involved. If you would like to reach out before then, please feel free to contact us at .
Dr. Constanze Mölders, candidate for the PTO President position
I’m the mum of a 6-year-old daughter in Grade 1 at the FIS and am excited about the opportunity to further support our school community through the PTO. For the past four years, I’ve actively contributed as a class representative. Professionally, I’m an eye doctor with a passion for community-building and collaborative environments—values that closely align with the PTO’s mission. I’d love to help foster meaningful connections among families, support school events, and contribute to creating a warm and inclusive culture at the FIS.
Larissa Wedel, candidate for the PTO Vice President position
Born and raised in Bamberg, I had the opportunity to travel to many different countries around the world. After my studies in Business Administration, I had the chance to live and work on the West Coast of the United States of America with my husband. Having had the opportunity to work with many people from all over the world, we decided to raise our kids in an international setting and therefore chose the FIS, which is a perfect match for us with their vision, values and community. I have been part of the FIS community since 2021. My daughter is currently in Grade 1 and my son is in EY3. I started participating in the PTO as an EY5 Class Representative during the 2023-2024 school year and I thoroughly enjoyed helping create a strong community, supporting teachers and students as well as parents. In 2024, I became part of the PTO Executive team serving as secretary.
Sriram Aiyyer, candidate for the PTO Treasurer position
Although I’ve been an active part of FIS for only a decade, I attended many events even before my children joined, thanks to friends already in the community. The school’s guiding principles – its international mindedness, caring, respect and sense of belonging – were key reasons we chose the FIS. My sons are in Grades 10 and 6. I work as a Senior Product Manager for a US- and Denmark-based medical device company. I’m an avid quizzer, extrovert, and book lover who enjoys meeting people. The pandemic highlighted the importance of a strong PTO and its role in supporting the school and community. Since my current role is fully remote, I have the flexibility and time to actively contribute to the PTO.
Chris Puppe, candidate for the PTO Secretary position
Hi I´m Chris, and I live and work in the Erlangen- Höchstadt metropolitan region, and I´m also based here with my company. My son is currently in EY5, and we are enthusiastic about the educational concept and the community. We are happy for our son that he can grow up in this modern international school concept, where he can meet friends and cultures from all over the world. I have been involved as a PTO since EY4 and I have already planned several events for my groups, to support the homeroom teachers, build a community for the parents, or support the several PTO school events. This is where I have a lot of communication with the PTO Organisation, so I´m looking forward to supporting the new PTO Board.
