Eco School Committee Hosts First Meeting

In-House

Our Eco School Committee hosted its ‘Kick-off” meeting last week. Attended by members of the parent, student and staff community, the committee aims to implement the recommendations of Echo-Schools, a global sustainable schools program.

Some of the subjects discussed during the meeting included Energy, Climate Change, and Litter and Waste Management.

As part of its sustainability measures, the school has already introduced recycling bins, transitioned to LED lights, and introduced re-fillable bottles and cups at the FIS Cafeteria. We have a bike-leasing program, and have moved to recycled copy-paper.

Of course, there is still a long way to go, and we are excited about what’s in store.

Going forward, there will be activities, trainings and efforts geared towards sharing their learnings with the wider FIS community.

Thank you all for your continued support in making the FIS an environmentally kinder place.
