In the past, our FIS community has shown immense generosity by supporting the Erlangen Tafel through various initiatives, such as providing school supplies and bags at the start of the school year and conducting food drives throughout the year. The Erlangen Tafel is a charitable organization that gathers essential food and sanitary items for those in our community facing adversity due to economic challenges, inflation, or those who have sought refuge in Germany, embarking on a new life.
This year, as the holiday season approaches, the PTO is planning a special Christmas drive. Typically, supermarkets only contribute leftover Christmas confections like candies and chocolates after the festive period. Consequently, we kindly request donations of Christmas cookies, candies, cakes, and chocolate. Additionally, we continue to welcome all non-perishable food items, including convenience food, canned fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, vegetable oil, pasteurized milk, juices etc.
We ask you to join us in spreading the warmth of the Christmas spirit to those within our community who are in need. Containers, clearly marked as “Erlanger Tafel,” will be placed in the FIS main building’s reception area from November 27 to December 11.
