The Middle School Photography Exploratory class had the chance to enter the Blick & Klick Photo Contest offered by the City of Erlangen. The contest was perfect for our students as it highlighted Erlangen from the viewpoints of its adoptive citizens. Entrants were asked “What makes Erlangen feel like home?” All photo entries had to include text about what gives you a feeling of belonging to Erlangen.
As a class we discussed how different all our home countries and cities were, but many of the students came back to simple things they see each day that remind them of these places like flowers and plants. Others brought up that it was making connections with friends that made a new place feel like home. Have you ever thought about what makes you feel at home here?
The photo exhibition from the contest is on display at the Erlangen City Library from Thursday, December 6, 2018 until Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and will also be displayed at a few other locations around town. If you stop by, you’ll get to see several photos from our class that have been selected.
