Our Grade 12 IB Diploma Programme students recently marked an important academic milestone: the submission of their Extended Essays.
Over the past months, students have immersed themselves in a topic of personal interest, designing research questions, analyzing sources, and shaping sustained academic arguments. The 4,000-word essay challenges them to think independently, manage a long-term project, and engage deeply with their chosen subject area.
As a core component of the IB Diploma Programme, the Extended Essay is assessed externally and, together with Theory of Knowledge, contributes valuable additional points toward the final diploma score. More importantly, it represents a significant step in developing the confidence, discipline, and academic skills students will carry into university and beyond.
