On Thursday, March 14, Pi Day, the FIS proudly hosted 45 students and their teachers for the annual Math Day event in association with the Siemens School Partnership and the Fuerther Mathe Olympiad. Students in Grades 5 and 6 from eight partner schools completed ten challenging inquiry-based competition tasks in which logic and mathematical know-how were tested.
Students from the MYP Mathematics Exploratory were responsible for correcting student work, while the FIS Mathematics Department translated problems from English into German and facilitated the collaborative effort. This is the 9th such event held at the FIS and organized by the FIS Mathematics department. It was a huge success!
