The Franconian International School (FIS) in Erlangen, southern Germany, is a progressive international school serving the diverse community of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. We are is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team.

School Nurse (m/f/d)

Starting: Starting as soon as possible (flexible start date)
Employment Type: Part-time, 20 hours/week, one full day and four afternoons until 4:00 p.m.
Contract Type: 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and emergency care for students and staff
  • Administer medications and monitor student health conditions
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and staff regarding student health needs
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality
  • Promote a healthy and safe school environment

The ideal candidate

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or completed training as a Nurse (preferably Pediatric) or comparable medical training
  • A minimum of two years’ professional experience in a similar field
  • A genuine passion for working with people – especially children
  • Strong intercultural competencies
  • A friendly, professional, and approachable personality with the ability to interact confidently with a wide range of individuals
  • Flexibility to step in on short notice to provide coverage during a colleague’s absence
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; German is an advantage
