Students Embark on Duke of Edinburgh Silver Practice Expedition in Franconian Switzerland

Last week, a dedicated group of students embarked on their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award practice expedition in the scenic Franconian Switzerland. This brought together participants from various grade levels, creating a spirit of collaboration as they worked towards a common goal: preparing for the Silver Award.

Among the group of 11, there were five students who had already completed their Bronze Award and are now pushing themselves further in pursuit of Silver. The students demonstrated resilience and a strong sense of responsibility as they tackled the physical and mental challenges of navigating the wilderness and working as a cohesive team.

This practice expedition is a vital step in the Duke of Edinburgh journey, giving students the opportunity to hone their outdoor skills, develop self-awareness, and reflect on their progress. The mixed-grade group brought a dynamic energy, with younger and older students learning from one another to build lasting connections. As they move closer to completing their Silver Award, these students exemplify a commitment to personal growth, teamwork, and leadership.
