Forest exploration

Have you ever taken a walk in the forest and wished you knew more about the things that you saw and heard? ….What is that plant called? What is the name of that bird? What animal is leaving those footprints? This after school activity will take curious 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade kids out into the forest to sharpen their observation skills and provide an introduction to basic plant, bird and other wildlife identification. We will also talk about the forest as a home or habitat for these plants, birds and wildlife in addition to the differences between native and non-native species.

Each week, we will walk from the FIS to the forest.
