New FIS Theatre Production
The music, drama and art departments will create an original and innovative music theatre production for the opening of the new FIS theatre in the school year 2012-13.
The grand opening will take place on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October 2012. Save the dates!
Committed and enthusiastic students are required to create and polish this stylish production. The production "What Moves Me" will involve the whole school community – students from Kiga to High School, staff and parents - in the development and performance of this theatrical event. Professional artists will be engaged to work with FIS students and teachers in the areas of composing, singing, playing, acting, dance and designing through classes, workshops and rehearsals. Students will work with teachers in music, drama, art, IT, English, ESL, German and Spanish to develop this dynamic production. What moves me will be produced by Ms Connie Panagakis, FIS HoD Music & Drama, and Ms Frances Pappas, Artistic Director, Internationales Kammermusikfestival Nürnberg. Planning and discussions have already begun on this exciting and dynamic production which will be part of the program for the Internationales Kammermusikfestival Nürnberg in September 2012. Workshops and rehearsals for the production will take place primarily in ASAP groups, whose members will work together after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays from 15.45 until 17.15 from February until the end of the school year, and then in August and September of the next school year 2012-13. There will be a number of weekend workshops on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Students who are interested in participating in this production as performers, composers or designers should complete the form on the right side of the home page below and return it to Ms Panagakis by Friday 13 January.
A booklet with further detailed information will be published in January. Information will also be published in the weekly FIS newsletter and on the FIS website.

If you are self-motivated, creative, love to build, paint, and work well with others, please sign up. The students in this group may attend on either or both days - Wednesdays and Thursdays from 15.45-17.00.
What moves me – Art Journeys
Grade Four students have the exciting opportunity to participate in the activity Art Journeys. This participation will be in the form of producing Art pieces to be included in this collaborative production. We are looking for pupils who are motivated to learn new skills in Art; have creative ideas about what moves ‘Them’; and are willing to share their ideas using images. They will begin a creative journey exploring images around this theme, concluding with an artistic composition that communicates their ideas. They will be experimenting with, and using a range of media to create a 2D finished piece. Please see Ms Clements if you would like to participate in this group.
