Lunch Program School Year 2011/12
Students at the FIS are welcome to take part in the school lunch program. We offer an international and a vegetarian option with our hot lunch menu. In addition we have a salad and sandwich bar.
Hot Lunch
Our hot lunch option will again be provided on subsidized cost basis to the FIS by chefs de cuisine from the Siemens Restaurant Services. We have worked with our caterer to develop a nutritious menu which will consist of a hot main course and a dessert. Students must choose either the international or vegetarian option. On some days, when the international meal for the day is vegetarian, there will only be one hot dish offered.
The lunch subscription is automatically valid for an entire school year. Invoices will be sent each semester. The hot lunch option will cost 282 € per semester for Kindergarten/Elementary students and 314 € per semester for Middle/High School students. The difference in price takes into account the larger portions served in the Middle and High Schools.
Students may join or cancel the program by completing the Hot Lunch Form and return it signed to lunch@the-fis.de or to the school office. Changes are possible during the school year but only once per semester. We need to get the info in writing until the15th of a month and the change will be effective from the 1st of the following month. For example, if you wish to cancel or join the hot lunch effective 1st March, the request must be received by no later than 15th February. A reimbursement or invoice will be provided accordingly. As an exception we offer to our new families/staff member a mid-month enrollment. Please note that because our lunch fee is averaged on the entire school year, we will always charge you for an entire month.
If you would like your children to be part of the FIS hot lunch program, please complete the attached form, indicating which one of the two options is requested and return it to lunch@the-fis.de or the school office.
Salad and Sandwich Bar
Our salad and sandwich bar, operating in the cafeteria is organized on a voucher basis. Students or their parents may purchase vouchers costing:
- 3,50€ per salad
- 1,50€ per sandwich
- 1,00€ per juice
- 1,50 € per muesli to go in different flavors including milk
from the receptionist from 8.00 to 9.30 and during break times. On the day students wish to have a sandwich for lunch, they simply make their "purchase" in the cafeteria with the appropriate vouchers.
We are currently offering salads and fresh sandwiches with the following toppings: salami, ham, cheese, tomato/mozzarella, pepper/cream cheese etc.
No money will be accepted in the cafeteria. An international or vegetarian meal in the Hot Lunch program cannot be substituted for a salad or sandwich.
