Field Trips

Field trips are an integral part of the program at all levels at the FIS. From museum visits, to archaeological digs, to challenge courses, experiences away from the school campus add to and enrich classroom learning. In the Kindergarten and Elementary School, field trips are important ways of enhancing our IPC topics through first hand experiences. Our Grade Four students participate in an annual three-day field trip to the Fränkische Schweiz region to enrich their IPC topic on Rivers. In the Middle School, students have traveled to Hintersee and Berchtesgaden, Euro Space Camp in Belgium, Outward Bound Camp, and a Grade Eight Spanish exchange to Oviedo, Spain. In High School, students have travelled to Romania and Mongolia for voluntary (CAS) work, to Berlin and Austria for trips connected to academic courses and Munich, Stuttgart and The Hague for Model United Nations, in addition to a wide range of academic trips throughout Europe.
