The FIS CAS groups keep on doing an outstanding job in the different areas in which they are working. Nicaraconia had a successful fundraiser during the Christmas Market and will donate more than one 100 Euros in school supplies to an Elementary School in San Carlos, Nicaragua. The Green Club launched an Education Educational campaign, so faculty and students know why we have “Gelber Sack” cans in our facilities. This week the Pfand-Aid team went to the Erlangen Tafel to deliver food supplies to those in need. A month ago the Dog Guardians had the second annual FIS Dog Walk and they raised a considerable amount of money (more than 300 Euros) to support dog shelters in Hungary. Bookbrigde organized the second Harry Potter Night. This event was full of enthusiasm, happiness, and, of course, magic! The Triple C (creativity, crafts and communication) had an Art workshop for children last week. Participants and team leaders had a blast! The Gamerz Club is finishing a website where they will share reviews about video games (stay tuned for the development of this project). The Math Club has more tutors now and is still working on Mondays to provide Math support to Elementary, Middle and High School students. Christmas in a Shoe Box packed and sent more than 200 boxes (with school supplies and small toys) to Easter European children. FIS Cre8tions keeps working tirelessly and is one of the reasons why the FIS (performing art) productions continue happening at such high levels.
Most of the Clubs mentioned above are led by students. They, the students, have taken ownership of their teams, and through their commitment and hard work they have developed sustainable and well-organized Clubs. Congratulations!
